What is TRX?

The TRX system, also known as resistance exercises, refers to a specialized form of suspension training that utilizes developed equipment and bodyweight exercises to simultaneously develop strength, balance, flexibility and the stability of the body. The TRX was originally designed by a soldier who wanted to stay in shape with minimal equipment in a limited space that he could carry and use easily use.

How does it work?

It requires the use of the TRX Suspension Trainer, a powerful training tool that uses the user’s gravity and body weight to complete the exercises. TRX designers say it is based on research from military, sports and academic institutions, as well as the experience of the TRX team, which works with thousands of athletes, coaches, trainers. Launched in the early 2000s, the TRX was immediately embraced by gyms, sports coaches and fitness trainers around the world.

A typical session lasts 45 minutes and begins with a warm-up with the TRX for about 5 minutes, to prepare all muscle groups for the exercise and mobilize joints. Then, the work block is divided into 3 cycles of 10 to 12 minutes of effort with a recovery of 1 minute. Each cycle includes exercises that involve the lower and upper limbs, then the trunk, and ends with some cardiovascular work. It is also possible to allocate each cycle to a different part of the body, this method can be considered as an advanced practice as it requires to carry on with several exercises on the same body parts. The workout duration per exercise is timed, the goal is  to make a maximum of rehearsals in the given time while making a quality movement of quality.

The session ends with 5 minutes of stretching.
